I live in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

When I said we have our negatives, I was mainly just not trying to sound like a Canada booster. They’re mostly in comparison to the states.

For example, you guys have Netflix and Gamefly, we have a couple of weak wannabes (Zip.ca is one). Stuff is generally more expensive here, sometimes quite a bit, even when exchange is taken into account. Selection is generally better in the U.S. and there is more to choose from.

But the free health care is pretty cool. My daughter was born with a rare genetic liver defect and had a liver transplant in April (she will be 3 on Jan 2/09) and I can’t imagine what the cost would have been. Even though we both have health insurance through our jobs, I’m sure they have a cap that once the bills reach, they stop paying.

I have never seen Sophie’s choice but was just wondering if she was “pumped up” having Hans and Franz as children.

Mostly, UK Gameshows = (A pestilence on the land x Spawn of the devil x all too common).

A few ARE well worth watching; even staying in to watch. But none of the good ones have members of the public on the teams. C-List celebrities are better fodder.

If you want to download one on YouTube to see the very best available, check out “Never Mind The Buzzcocks”, with Simon Anstell as host.

It doesn’t really matter which episode; they are all nearly pant-wettingly funny.
